Priyanka’s father – elder father was against beauty contest
In an interview, Priyanka’s mother told how difficult it was to convince the actress’s father Ashok Chopra for this. But it was even more difficult to convince Priyanka’s uncle because he was against it. He was like the head of the family. As soon as Priyanka was selected for this, they went to her house to tell her that she would have to go to Bombay for training. But he was not in support of it at all.
Priyanka’s elder father had said this
He said- ‘The girls in our house do not do all this.’ After hearing many things from him, Priyanka started crying. Priyanka thought that Bade Papa would agree but he refused. After this I talked to his wife and said that this is an opportunity and she is not going away from home. If this happens then it is not okay, otherwise she will come back and go to school. There is no pressure on the girl.
He further told that at that time Priyanka was studying in 12th and she had board exams. It was very difficult to convince Priyanka’s father for this. Siddharth and Priyanka kept requesting him for this. But Priyanka’s mother did not give up and did not let the opportunity go. For this he left his practice and supported Priyanka.
