According to the report, between 2019 and 2024, $60 billion has been invested in this sector, which will cross $100 billion by the end of 2027. Global operators, real estate developers and private equity funds have invested heavily in it. Investors want to take advantage of the rapidly growing data center market in India.
UP and Bengal are also emerging markets
Investment in the data center sector is not only happening in industrial states like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, but states like Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are also emerging in this matter. Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and CEO of CBRE India, South-East Asia, West Asia and Africa, said that India’s data center market is growing at a very fast pace. This is due to India’s digital expansion. Apart from this, the government is taking initiatives on a large scale for its development. For this reason, both domestic and international companies are investing in this sector. Therefore, in the coming days, India will be an important destination for those investing in data centers. There is also a possibility of a lot of investment and better returns on investment.
Data protection law is giving a boost
According to the CBRE report, the data center sector is going to grow further due to the implementation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act in 2023. Because, this facilitates cross border trade and legal data processing. This also increases the confidence of stakeholders. At the same time, the ecosystem of digital innovation is also likely to develop. Apart from this, the draft data center policy brought by the Government of India in 2020 has also contributed a lot in this. Because, thanks to this, operators and developers are together creating a favorable environment for data center business.
