While talking to Bollywood Thikana, Mukesh had said, ‘I had become a joke in the industry. In the film, there was a scene between me and Firoz at the breakfast table. Where he was calling me Papa. People in the industry had made it a laughing point.
Mukesh told that the equation between him and Firoz Khan was affected when he was not called on the stage for the premiere of the film.

Mukesh said- After this incident, I kept avoiding her. But we met at Sanjay Khan’s daughter’s wedding. At that wedding, perhaps she noticed that I was ignoring her. So he came to me and greeted me. At that point I told him that I was angry with him since the premiere of Yalgaar. So he told me that Mukesh, I was under tension and had gone out of my mind. So I told him – Sir, people did not accept me in the role of your father. So he said that I had taken you because of your grandfatherly image. After this I became silent.
Mukesh also told that he had rejected the film offer. He had clearly refused to do the film in the first narration. But then in the second narration he agreed.
