Stock Market Closing On 25 October 2024: Today’s session has proved to be Black Friday for the Indian stock market. Due to heavy selling in consumer durables, banking and auto sectors, the market closed with a sharp decline in the last trading session of the week. Sensex has slipped below 80000 and midcap stocks and small cap stocks have also fallen. Investors have suffered a loss of more than Rs 6 lakh crore in today’s session. After the market closed, the Sensex fell by 663 points at 79,402 and the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange fell by 218 points to close at 24,180 points.

In today’s trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 10 closed with a rise while 20 saw a decline. The biggest fall was seen in the stock of IndusInd Bank, which closed down by 18.79 percent due to its poor results. Apart from this, Mahindra & Mahindra closed down by 3.56 percent, L&T by 3.01 percent, NPTC by 2.73 percent, Adani Ports by 2.33 percent, Maruti by 2.14 percent. Among the rising stocks, ITC closed with a rise of 2.24 per cent, Axis Bank with a rise of 1.85 per cent, HUL with a rise of 0.96 per cent, Sun Pharma with a rise of 0.53 per cent, ICICI Bank with a rise of 0.51 per cent.
Investors lost Rs 6 lakh crore
Even today, investors have suffered huge losses due to heavy selling in the stock market. The market cap of stocks listed on BSE closed at Rs 437.76 lakh crore, which was close to Rs 444 lakh crore in the last session. That means investors have suffered a loss of more than Rs 6 lakh crore in today’s session.

Today, the biggest decline has been seen in shares of banking, consumer durables, auto, oil and gas energy, media and metals sectors. Only the stocks of Pharma and FNCG sectors closed with gains. Nifty Midcap index closed with a fall of 1071 points and Small Cap index closed with a fall of 401 points.
