India vs Australia 1st Test Playing XI: The first Test between India and Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024 will be played in Perth from November 22. Team India captain Rohit Sharma will not play the first Test, so it remains an interesting topic that who will open with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Perth Test? Fast bounce and pace can be seen on the Perth pitch, hence the bowling combination will also have to be prepared wisely. Will the team field with two spin bowlers or will India choose the option of four fast bowlers? You will find answers to many such questions here. So let us know with which playing eleven the Indian team can enter the first test?
KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal will open!
The update regarding Rohit Sharma is that he will join Team India in Perth on 24th November i.e. Sunday. In such a situation, KL Rahul is being seen as his replacement. Rahul is also the best option for opening because he has experience of opening the innings in 75 innings. So far, while opening for India, he has scored 2,551 runs including 7 centuries and 12 fifties in 75 innings. As far as Shubman Gill is concerned, Devdutt Padikkal may get a chance to play the second Test of his career in his place. He made his Test debut against England this year and played an innings of 65 runs. As usual, Virat Kohli will be handling the responsibility of the fourth order.
Team India will enter with two wicketkeepers!
Due to injury of Shubman Gill, change in middle order batting is also possible. Had Rohit Sharma been in the team, KL Rahul could have been seen batting at number five or six. But now the chances of Rahul opening are very high, hence in his place Dhruv Jurel can be seen batting at the sixth position. Let us tell you that apart from him, Rishabh Pant’s place in the playing eleven is also almost confirmed.
What will be the bowling combination?
Pitch curator Isaac McDonald has made it clear that the Perth pitch will suit fast bowlers. In such a situation, both the teams can take the field with a combination of 4 fast bowlers and one spinner. Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the Indian bowling, he may get support from Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna in the pace attack. Nitish Kumar Reddy can be the fourth fast bowling option in the team. Ravichandran Ashwin may be the only spinner in the playing eleven.
India’s probable playing XI for the first test: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Reddy, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah (captain), Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna.
