In many years, such films are seen, watching which will definitely awaken the enthusiasm to live life more with a slight twinkle in your eyes.
The year 2024 is about to go and if you want to see a great and deep film presented in a light-hearted manner, then it may also become that film of this year. So if you are fed up of seeing the same action and stories over the years with loud background music and want to watch this film of Abhishek Bachchan, then read this review, the fun of watching the film will increase further.
Story of ‘I Want to Talk’
The story is of Arjun (Abhishek Bachchan). Who is IITN and MBA degree holder. Making his dreams come true in America. He has achieved a lot in life and is working hard to achieve it in the future as well. But suddenly a storm comes in his life. Doctors tell him that he has ‘laryngeal cancer’ and that he has less than 100 days left to live.
Arjun loses his job. Amidst the turmoil of life, he has to undergo surgery one after another. Arjun is also the father of a girl and meanwhile he has to fulfill his responsibilities also. This story is about the same Arjun who has less than 100 days left but he confuses and manipulates even death to stay alive.
Due to this manipulation and convincing, he undergoes more than 20 surgeries but does not give up. The story is simple but not plain at all. You will have to watch the film to understand that twist.
How is the film ‘I Want to Talk’?
Understand in two words ‘very amazing’. Now let us understand in points why it is so amazing.
- Every dialogue of the film contains some meaning in itself. Not even one percent of the film is meaningless. Nor is there any forced scene in the film. Even if there are songs, they are played in the background to give a push to the film’s story as per its need and they are excellent too.
- Just think, people lose their lives every day, be it due to illness or some war going on in the world. The numbers are reported in the media. But do we really understand the pain of his family? We just read a number that so many people died, just like any ‘statistics’.
- The film talks in great depth about these scary and unsympathetic ‘statistics’. For a doctor, a cancer patient or a very ill person can be just a subject, but what goes through the mind of that subject. This is what the film tells.
- Despite being full of fear of death, the entire film gives hope to live. The film depicts the story of a survivor whose more than 90 percent stomach was operated and removed. The throat pipe has shrunk. His entire face is disfigured, but his desire to live outweighs his fear of death and makes the audience feel good.
- Sensitive matters like suicide have been shown very sensitively. While raising such a sensitive issue, the pain, burden and unforgettable pain have all been presented in such a way that anyone can understand the situation deeply.
Direction and writing of ‘I Want to Talk’
The film has been directed by Shoojit Sircar. Before this he has made films like ‘October’ and ‘Piku’. These films were also full of life. In this film too, Shoojit has kept a slight fragrance of his old films, which enhances the taste of the film. Ritesh Shah has amazing writing in the film.
acting
When you watch the film, you will realize why Abhishek Bachchan still has to prove himself every day. Well if it was necessary to prove it then they have done it again. If you have been convinced of his acting in films like Guru, Sarkar, Yuva. So once again gear up to become crazy about them.
This time something new has been seen in his acting, which makes him even better than before. His acting style revolves around Papa Amitabh’s character of Piku and Pa’s sick child character. He does not copy, but as a master of acting, a glimpse of his father is visible in him.
Ahilya Bamru has done a good job as his daughter. Seeing him, it will seem that after a long time some refreshing and fresh talent has been seen. Once again we should talk about Abhishek Bachchan because he has adopted more than 10 different looks which seem to further enhance his acting.
In the end, if you do not watch this film, you will probably miss watching the best film of the year.
