Nisha Dahiya Injury Paris Olympics 2024: Nisha Dahiya, India’s star wrestler, missed out on a medal due to injury in the quarterfinals of the women’s 68 kg category last Monday. She lost 10-8 to Sol Gum of North Korea. But her defeat has created a huge controversy because in the second round of the match, Nisha started groaning in pain due to an injury in her hand. The match was stopped several times due to her injury. Now the coach of the national wrestling team, Virendra Dahiya, has made serious allegations against the Korean wrestler.
Virender Dahiya alleged in a media interview that the Korean wrestler had received a signal to injure Nisha Dahiya. Virender alleged, “The Korean wrestler had 100 percent intentionally injured Nisha. There was a signal from the Korean corner and that is why she attacked the bone joint. The North Korean camp has snatched the medal from Nisha.”
The medal was taken away
The coach further said in his statement, “The way Nisha Dahiya started, no one could have stopped her from winning the medal, but now it has been taken away from her. The attack was clear and the counter attack strategy was also effective. Nisha had defeated this wrestler in the Asian qualifiers and under no circumstances was Nisha losing this match.”
Nisha took a 4-0 lead in the first round of 3 minutes. When the second round started, Nisha had a huge lead of 8-1 at one point, but then she was seen groaning in pain due to an injury on her right hand. When 10 seconds were left, the score was tied at 8-8. Meanwhile, Nisha also kneeled down due to pain. After the match ended, the Indian wrestler was drowned in tears.
