UPSC Success Story: Once someone saw me at a tea stall and started making fun of me. He used to call me ‘chaiwala’. Instead of paying attention to that, I concentrated more on studies and accomplished my objective. Traveling 70 kilometers daily to go to school, working at a tea shop to help his father, giving UPSC exam thrice and being successful all three times and becoming an IAS. Such is the inspiring story of Himanshu Gupta, who got selected in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
This story is enough to fill the enthusiasm among those youth who want to do something. Himanshu Gupta’s journey was undoubtedly difficult but successful. This clearly means that if you have dedication, passion to work hard and a clear objective, then no one can stop you from being successful, no matter how difficult the path may be.
Father never thought that his Himanshu would become an IAS.
Himanshu Gupta’s father, a resident of Sitarganj in Udham Singh district of Uttarakhand, used to work as a laborer, then he started a tea shop. His promising son also joined him to help him. 35 kilometers going and 35 kilometers coming. Traveling 70 kilometers both ways for studies was no laughing matter. Amidst these challenges, Himanshu completed his 10th and 12th studies. Without any coaching, he studied on his own and took the UPSC exam thrice and one by one climbed up the ranks and became an IAS.
Successful in all three attempts and became IAS.
Passed UPSC Exam for the first time in the year 2018, then Himanshu was selected for Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS). He was not satisfied with this. He took the exam again in 2019. This time he was selected for the Indian Police Service (IPS). Even after being successful the second time, he felt that he should make another attempt. So he took the exam again in 2020. This time he got what he wanted to get.
