Kabaddi started in Tamil Nadu, India
Centuries ago, a game called Jallikattu was played in Tamil Nadu, India. Taking inspiration from this, the game of Kabaddi was invented and it is said that Gautam Buddha was also fond of this game. The history of Kabaddi is said to be 4000 years old. It is said that Arjun also learned the tricks of Kabaddi from Lord Krishna. Talking about the rules, traditional Kabaddi is played on clay, but now it is played on mats. A match is played between two teams and each team has 7 players. A player has to touch the player of the opposing team and cross the white line in the middle of the mat and return to his team’s court.
