ICC Chairman Jay Shah Champions Trophy 2025: Will the Champions Trophy be held in Pakistan or not? Will the hybrid model be adopted for India or not? Answers to many such questions can emerge after the ICC Boards meeting on November 29. Meanwhile, the date of December 1 is also approaching, on this day Jay Shah is going to take over the post of ICC Chairman. Recall that in August this year, Jay Shah was unanimously appointed as the new chairman of the International Cricket Council. Till now he was holding the post of Secretary of BCCI.
Many topics will be discussed in the meeting on November 29, but it is not yet clear whether the decision regarding the tournament will come immediately or after a few days. In such a situation, if there is a delay in the decision, then by December 1, Jay Shah would have taken over the post of ICC chairman. Whoever holds the post of chairman has to be seen with equality by all other countries, but Pakistan has a long history of terrorist attacks. Therefore, possibly after sitting on the chairman’s chair, Jay Shah can approve the hybrid model and issue a statement in favor of India.
Is BCCI worried?
That horrific moment of the year 2009, when there was a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, still shocks the cricket fans. Therefore, if seen from a legal point of view, BCCI is right to a great extent in expressing concern about the security arrangements in Pakistan. On the other hand, PCB has repeatedly said that it will not give up hosting the Champions Trophy under any circumstances nor will it accept the hybrid model. But all these equations can change as soon as Jai Shah becomes the chairman, where Pakistan Cricket Board will have no option left but to bow down.
