ICC Champions Trophy 2025: There are still question marks on whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy 2025 or not. Let us remind you that the ICC recently called a meeting in Colombo, in which Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Mohsin Raza Naqvi and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah were also present. The news from this meeting is that now the ICC will persuade India to go to Pakistan and the PCB has also agreed to this.
A media report has revealed that the PCB has completed all the formalities that it had to do as the host of the Champions Trophy. The ICC has already given the green signal to the proposed schedule sent by the PCB and a huge budget of Rs 1,280 crore has also been approved for the event. Now only one thing remains to be done, how the ICC convinces India to come to Pakistan. The report further stated that now it all depends on the ICC when it finalizes the schedule. As per the current schedule, Team India has to play all its matches at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
India has not visited Pakistan since 2008
It is not at all easy to convince Team India to go to Pakistan. Due to the bad political relations between the two countries, the Indian team has not gone to Pakistan to play cricket since 2008. Even last year when Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup 2023, Team India refused to go to the neighboring country. Due to this, the ICC had to introduce the hybrid model, under which India’s matches were held in Sri Lanka. This time there is speculation that India’s Champions Trophy matches can be held in the UAE.
