PR Sreejesh 2 Crore Cash Award: The Kerala government has announced a cash reward of Rs 2 crore to PR Sreejesh, who was part of India’s bronze medal winning hockey team at the Paris Olympics 2024. Sreejesh hails from Kerala and retired from hockey after winning the bronze medal at the Olympics. In a cabinet meeting held in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the reward money of Rs 2 crore for this legendary goalkeeper of the Indian team was discussed and approved.
The statement issued by the CMO said – PR Sreejesh, who has won the bronze medal with the Indian hockey team in the Paris Olympics 2024, will be given a prize money of Rs 2 crore. ” Let us remind you that Sreejesh was also a part of India’s bronze medal winning team in the Tokyo Olympics. At that time also he was given a reward of Rs 2 crore for winning the medal. Meanwhile, the Indian hockey team has been honored in Odisha. In this regard, Sreejesh posted on X and said that he will miss Odisha a lot, which is like his second home.

Grand welcome in Kerala
PR Sreejesh had said that he wants to take a break of 2-3 months before taking over as the head coach of India’s junior hockey team. He said that he wants to feel mentally fit before taking on the big responsibility of a coach. Meanwhile, after winning the bronze medal in the Olympics, Sreejesh landed at Kochi airport on August 16. He was given a grand welcome there and a road show was also organised from Kochi airport to Palarivattom.
Sreejesh had served the Indian senior hockey team for about 18 years. He had been a part of Team India since 2011. In this long journey, he had won 2 Olympic medals, two silver medals in Hockey Champions Trophy and also contributed significantly to India’s success in Asian and Commonwealth Games.
