Karnataka Ranji Trophy Wins: Ranji Trophy 2024-25 is starting from October 11, in the first match of which defending champions Mumbai and Baroda will face each other. But the center of discussion here is the Karnataka team, which has completed 10 years since becoming Ranji champion. 10 years ago, Karnataka won the trophy for the second consecutive time by defeating Tamil Nadu by a huge margin of an innings and 217 runs in the title clash. Last season, Karnataka had won the title by defeating Maharashtra by 7 wickets in the final.
A video is going viral on social media, which is after Karnataka became Ranji Trophy champion in the 2013-2014 season. In that match, Maharashtra had scored 305 runs while playing first, while on the other hand, Karnataka had scored 515 runs in the first innings and gained a lead of 210 runs. Maharashtra was reduced to a score of 366 in the second innings and under the captaincy of Vinay Kumar, Karnataka achieved the target with 7 wickets remaining in the second innings.
It has been ten years since Karnataka last won the Ranji Trophy title.

KL Rahul’s mega celebration
In the final of the 2013–2014 Ranji season, KL Rahul was adjudged Man of the Match for scoring 131 runs and 29 runs in the first and second innings respectively. The video going viral is from after the match, where KL Rahul is topless in the dressing room, holding the Ranji Trophy in his hand and his Man of the Match trophy in the other hand. Rahul was getting the picture clicked in a happy manner, but then Robin Uthappa came and vomited a bucket full of water on KL Rahul.
Rahul was drenched with water, while Manish Pandey celebrated his team’s victory by opening champagne to celebrate Karnataka’s victory. It is worth noting that in the 2014-2015 season, Karnataka could not even reach the finals.
