Instagram has given a big gift to creators. Now creators will also have the facility to upload long reels. Actually, now reels of up to 3 minutes can be uploaded on Instagram. Apart from this, the company is also going to change the user’s profile grid. Now instead of square boxes you will see rectangular boxes. In the coming days, Instagram is planning to show friends’ liked reels in a new section. Let us know the complete news.
Now users will be able to upload long reels
Instagram head Adam Mosseri has released a video and informed about this decision. He said that now you will be able to upload 3 minute long reels on Instagram. Earlier only 90 second reels were uploaded because Instagram’s focus was on short-videos. He said that many creators gave him feedback that 90 seconds is too short. Therefore now the duration is being increased. He hoped that this would help people tell their stories. Before Instagram, YouTube had also increased the duration of its shorts videos to 3 minutes.
This change will happen in the profile grid
Now on Instagram, content will appear in a rectangular box instead of a square on the profile grid. Mosseri said that some users like squares and square photos have been a kind of heritage of Instagram, but most of what is being uploaded at the moment is in vertical orientation. It is not right to crop it. This feature is also gradually being rolled out for the users.
Reels liked by friends will look different
In another new feature, Instagram is going to bring a new tab in the Reels feed, in which the videos which have been liked or commented on by their friends will be visible. This will be like the company’s old activity feed, in which users were shown those videos which have been liked by their friends.
