Indian Wicketkeeper Batter Wriddhiman Saha Retirement: Team India recently played a three-match test series against New Zealand. Team India had to face defeat 0-3 in the series. This was the first time in the history of Indian cricket that Team India was whitewashed by a team in a three-match Test series on home soil. Now after this shameful defeat, suddenly the wicketkeeper batsman of Team India announced his retirement.
India’s star wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha, playing in Ranji Trophy for Bengal, announced his retirement through social media. Saha told that this time he is playing the last Ranji season of his career. He played his last match for Team India in 2021.
After the retirement of former captain MS Dhoni, Saha was seen as the permanent wicketkeeper of the Indian Test team for some time. However, then in 2021, the Indian team management decided to remove Saha from the team and KS Bharat was selected as the backup to Rishabh Pant. However, now Bharat is also almost out of the setup of Team India. These days, Dhruv Jurel is seen as Pant’s backup in Test Team India.
Saha announced on social media to play the last season
In a post shared on social media, Saha wrote, “After a memorable journey in cricket, this season will be my last. I am honored to represent Bengal for the last time, playing only in the Ranji Trophy before retiring.” Yes. Let’s make this season memorable.”
