Harbhajan Singh on Virat Kohli 10000 Run: There are many moments in the history of Indian cricket that play an important role in mentoring cricketers and shaping their careers. One such memorable moment was when Harbhajan Singh gave an important message to young Virat Kohli. Virat, who is considered one of the biggest legends of cricket today, struggled at the beginning of his Test career. In his Test debut against West Indies in 2011, Virat scored just 19 runs, which was quite disappointing compared to his ODI form.
Virat Kohli got praise from Harbhajan Singh
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh has played with Virat Kohli in his early days. He has recently made a big revelation which sheds light on Kohli’s cricket journey. Harbhajan Singh told in an interview, “I remember an incident when Virender Sehwag was injured and Ajantha Mendis was getting everyone out. Virat came as a young player, full of energy. He scored fifty runs and asked me, ‘Paaji, how did you play?’ I said, ‘Very good’. After this Virat said, ‘I should not have got out, I should have played more.’ I liked his confidence and his passion for the game very much.”
When Harbhajan challenged Virat
Virat Kohli has made many big records in his career, but his journey has not been easy. Harbhajan told that in the initial days, Kohli had doubts about his career and he needed guidance. Harbhajan said, “When we were on the West Indies tour, Fidel Edwards troubled Virat a lot. He was repeatedly getting out on LBW and short balls, which frustrated him and he questioned himself, ‘Am I good?’ I advised him that if you do not score 10,000 runs, you will embarrass yourself. You have full potential to score 10,000 runs. And if you do not make it, it will be your own fault.”
