Suman Kumar 10 Wickets Cooch Behar Trophy: Samastipur city of Bihar came into limelight when 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Now Suman Kumar, who comes from the same city, has done a historic feat by taking all 10 wickets in a single innings. Kumar has taken 10 wickets while playing for Bihar in the match against Rajasthan in the Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 tournament. His feat also became memorable because he also took a hat-trick in the 36th over of the innings.
In the first innings of this match being played at Moin Ul Haq Stadium in Patna, Bihar had scored a huge score of 467 runs. For Bihar, Deepesh Gupta scored unbeaten 183 runs and Prithvi Raj also scored 128 runs. In reply, Rajasthan got a good start, but Suman Kumar wreaked such havoc that he took all the 10 wickets of the Rajasthan team. He bowled 33.5 overs, in which he took 10 wickets for 53 runs. Indian legend Anil Kumble has achieved such a feat in international cricket.
Hat-trick in the 36th over
Suman Kumar also took a hat-trick in the 36th over of the innings. He dismissed Mohit Bhagtani, Anas and then Sachin Sharma in three consecutive balls. This is the second time in the current season of Indian domestic cricket when a bowler has taken 10 wickets in a single innings. Before him, while playing for Haryana in Ranji Trophy 2024-2025, Anshul Kamboj had taken all 10 wickets in the clash against Kerala.
Bihar Cricket Association President Rakesh Tiwari praised Suman Kumar and said, “Suman Kumar taking 10 wickets in a single innings is a matter of pride for Bihar cricket. His skill and commitment towards cricket shows the rising level of cricket in Bihar.” This shows that the state of Bihar is now producing good players at the national level.”
