Why Hardik Pandya Not Captain: Hardik Pandya’s name is being heard everywhere. Hardik Pandya was the vice-captain of Team India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, after which it was believed that Hardik was sure to become the next captain. However, the captaincy was handed over to Suryakumar Yadav. Earlier media reports had said that Hardik was not given the captaincy due to poor fitness record, but now media reports have said that the team’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir were not in favor of Hardik Pandya becoming the captain of the T20 team.
In the reports that came out about Suryakumar Yadav, it was told that he created a good atmosphere with Hardik Pandya in the team as well as in the dressing room.
Hardik took over the captaincy of Gujarat Titans in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, Hardik made Gujarat the champion and then in 2023, Gujarat under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya was the runner-up. However, in 2024, Hardik proved to be a flop as the captain of Mumbai Indians, due to which he was not promoted for captaincy.
Shubman Gill was made the vice-captain
Shubman Gill was made the captain for the T20 and ODI series on the Sri Lanka tour. After not getting the captaincy, Hardik was also removed from the vice-captaincy, which made it clear that now Hardik is not being seen as a captain.
