Why did coach Gautam Gambhir return to India?
After a spectacular win in the Perth Test, Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir is returning to India on Tuesday due to ‘personal reasons’. According to the report of Indian Express, Gambhir will rejoin the team before the second Test starting from December 6 in Adelaide.
A BCCI official said, “Gambhir has told us that he is returning home due to personal reasons. The board has accepted his request. He will join back with the team before the second Test.”
Team India vs Prime Minister XI Practice Match
The Indian team will leave for Canberra on Wednesday, where it will play a two-day pink ball practice match against Prime Minister’s XI from November 30. During this time, in Gambhir’s absence, assistant coaches Abhishek Nair and Ryan ten Doeschate, bowling coach Morne Morkel and fielding coach T Dilip will take charge of the team along with captain Rohit Sharma.
Rohit Sharma returns to the team
Captain Rohit Sharma, who could not play the first Test due to the birth of his second child, reached Australia on Sunday. On the fourth day of the Perth Test, he was seen with Gambhir in the dressing room. Rohit also practiced vigorously in the nets with the pink ball during the lunch break.
