Stock Market Closing On 19 November 2024: Even though the Indian stock market closed with a rise in Tuesday’s trading session, Sensex fell by 1000 points and Nifty by 300 points from the day’s high. The huge gains that the market had made throughout the day were lost in the last hour. At the end of today’s trading, BSE Sensex closed at 77,578 points with a jump of 240 points, while Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 23,518 points with a jump of 65 points.

In today’s trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 closed with a rise while 13 saw a decline. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 23 closed with gains and 27 closed with losses. Among the rising stocks, Mahindra & Mahindra 3.07 percent, Tech Mahindra 1.90 percent, HDFC Bank 1.82 percent, Titan 1.58 percent, Sun Pharma 1.46 percent, Tata Motors 1.34 percent, UltraTech Cement 1.07 percent, Power Grid 0.77 percent, Infosys 0.66 percent, Adani Ports. It closed with a rise of 0.59 percent. While Reliance closed with a fall of 1.83 percent, SBI 1.43 percent, Bajaj Finserv 1.21 percent, Maruti 1.20 percent, Tata Steel 1.17 percent, Bharti Airtel 0.98 percent.
Sectoral Update
In today’s trade, banking, auto, IT, pharma, FMCG, real estate, media, consumer durables and healthcare sector shares closed with gains. While the indices of Oil & Gas, Commodities, Energy, Metals and PSU Bank shares closed with a decline. In today’s session, Nifty Midcap index closed with a jump of 503 points at 54,548 and Nifty Smallcap index closed with a jump of 170 points.
Increase in investors’ wealth
Due to the spectacular rise in the share market, there has been a surge in the wealth of investors. The market cap of stocks listed on BSE closed at Rs 430.39 lakh crore, which had closed at Rs 429.08 lakh crore in the previous session. That means, in today’s session, there has been an increase of Rs 1.31 lakh crore in the wealth of investors. However, during the day, when the market was trading at great speed, there was a jump of more than Rs 6 lakh crore in the wealth of investors.
