A total of 12 teams will participate in this Buchi Babu tournament. This time the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament will be held in Tamil Nadu. The tournament will be organized at four different places in Tamil Nadu, which include Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Salem and Natham. This tournament is starting from Thursday, August 15.
The Buchi Babu tournament marks the start of the domestic season
Let us tell you that the Buchi Babu tournament is considered to mark the beginning of the Indian domestic cricket season. It is one of the oldest tournaments in India. The name of this tournament comes from the pioneering efforts of Mothavarapu Venkata Mahipathi Naidu. Mothavarapu Venkata Mahipathi Naidu is also known as Buchi Babu. Buchi Babu is considered to be the pioneer of introducing cricket in Madras.
The tournament will follow the four-day format used in the Ranji Trophy. The winning team in this tournament will be given a prize money of Rs 3 lakh, while the runner-up will get Rs 2 lakh.
A total of 12 teams will participate in the tournament, including Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Railways, Gujarat, Mumbai, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Hyderabad, Baroda and two local teams. The two local teams will be TNCA-11 and TNCA President-11. The 12 teams have been divided into four groups.

Group A- Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Hyderabad
Group B- Railways, Gujarat, TNCA President’s XI
Group C- Mumbai, Haryana, TNCA XI
Group D- Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Baroda.
