Virender Sehwag Son Aaryavir Debut: Aryaveer, son of veteran Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, has made his debut for Delhi. Last Friday, he made his Under-19 debut for Delhi in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy match against Manipur. His important inning of 49 runs played an important role in helping Delhi win by 6 wickets. In this Under-19 cricket tournament, a glimpse of his father was visible in Aryaveer.
In this match played on 4 October, Manipur team was reduced to a score of 169 even before the entire overs were over. In reply, Delhi achieved this target in 26 overs at the loss of 4 wickets. Aryaveer along with Sarthak Rai opened for Delhi. Both added 33 runs for the first wicket. Meanwhile, Aryaveer was seen batting in a very disciplined style. He scored 49 runs in 64 balls, during this innings he also hit 6 fours and a six.
Captain Pranav Pant scored the most runs for Delhi, who played an unbeaten inning of 75 runs in 45 balls. Aryaveer also made an important partnership of 61 runs with the captain. Even before this, Aryaveer has created a sensation in Indian domestic cricket. While playing for DDCA in the trial match, he played a brilliant inning of 183 runs in 136 balls.
Talking about the points table, Delhi is currently sitting on the top of Group D after winning its first match by a big margin. In this group, Haryana and Gujarat are at second and third position respectively after winning one match each. Now Delhi’s next match is to be played against Uttar Pradesh on October 8, which had to face defeat by 4 wickets at the hands of Haryana in its first match.
