Indian Railways: Vande Bharat Express is the most modern train of India. This semi-automatic train has changed the way people travel. The success of the first Vande Bharat Express, which ran between New Delhi and Varanasi, filled the Indian Railways with enthusiasm and now the demand for running this train keeps rising from all over the country. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started Vande Bharat Express on 6 routes. Also, a target was set to run 4500 Vande Bharat Express in the country by 2047. But, there are some routes where Vande Bharat is yearning for passengers. All these are proving to be a loss-making deal for Indian Railways.
These Vande Bharat trains are not getting passengers
According to Indian Railways, 12 Vande Bharat Express is not getting passengers. These include routes like Bhubaneswar to Visakhapatnam, Tatanagar to Brahmapur, Rewa to Bhopal, Kalaburagi to Bengaluru, Udaipur to Agra, Durg to Visakhapatnam, Mangaluru to Madgaon, Jodhpur to Sabarmati, Howrah to Gaya, Meerut to Lucknow, Baharampur to Tatanagar and Nagpur to Secunderabad. Are included. Seat occupancy on these routes is not even reaching 50 percent. Almost half the train is going empty. On some routes, trains are not able to fill even 10 percent. According to railway officials, Vande Bharat is an expensive train. Due to political pressure, these have also been started on some routes where people do not want to pay so much money.
This train is running full on most routes
The fare of Vande Bharat Express is higher than that of Shatabdi Express. This is the fastest running train in the country. This intercity train can run at a speed of 150 km per hour. Due to its modern facilities, it is running fully loaded on most of the routes. It is being run to connect business cities and religious places. Now its sleeper version (Vande Bharat Sleeper) is also going to be launched. It is believed that due to the absence of sleepers, passengers on many routes do not want to travel in it.
Vande Bharat coaches had to be extended on many routes
According to railway data, it is running with 100 percent occupancy on many routes like Mumbai to Ahmedabad, New Delhi to Varanasi, New Delhi to Katra. Besides, demand is also increasing.
