You will have to pay more for LPG
First of all, oil companies have increased the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders from today. Commercial LPG cylinders have become costlier by Rs 39 in all major cities of the country from today. Now you will have to pay Rs 1,691.50 for this cylinder in Delhi, Rs 1,802.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1,644 in Mumbai and Rs 1,855 in Chennai. Earlier in August also, the price of 19 kg cylinder was increased by Rs 8-9. There has been no change in the price of LPG cylinders for domestic use since March.
Air travel fares may be reduced
The new month can prove to be auspicious for air travelers. Oil companies have made a huge cut in the price of ATF i.e. aviation fuel from today. The price of aviation fuel has been cut by Rs 4,495 per kilolitre. After that, the rates of ATF have come down to Rs 93,480.22 in Delhi, Rs 87,432.78 in Mumbai, Rs 96,298.44 in Kolkata and Rs 97,064.32 per kilolitre in Chennai. This will reduce the cost of aviation companies.
Rupay card holders will get more benefits
NPCI has asked the banks issuing RuPay credit cards to ensure equality in reward points and benefits from today. NPCI says that the reward points received on UPI transactions through RuPay credit card are less compared to other transactions. After the latest instructions of NPCI, those doing UPI transactions on RuPay credit card from today, September 1, will get more reward points.
Customers will suffer loss on reward points
This month has brought more changes regarding credit cards. The largest private bank HDFC Bank is introducing a cap on reward points from today. This limit is for payment of utility bills through credit card. That means, from today, you will get less rewards on transactions like electricity bill, water bill, gas bill, mobile bill and recharge through HDFC Bank credit card.
You will get less time to pay the bill
On the other hand, IDFC First Bank has changed the payment schedule for its credit card from today. From September 2024, IDFC First Bank credit card holders will get only 15 days to make the payment after the bill is generated. Earlier, it used to take 18 days for the due date to arrive after the bill was generated. This means that now customers will get less time to pay the bill.
Time extended for free Aadhaar card update
Aadhaar authority UIDAI has given a big relief to all Aadhaar card holders. The deadline for updating Aadhaar for free has been extended till 14 September. This has given all Aadhaar card holders additional time to update their information without making any payment. Now you can take advantage of this till 14 September.
Such fraud is going to be curbed
The rapidly increasing cases of fraud are expected to be curbed from today. TRAI has made some changes in the rules of fraud calls and spam messages to protect people’s hard-earned money, which have come into effect from today. Telemarketing services will be shifted to a blockchain-based system from today. This work will be completed by September 30. This will ensure that customers get relief from spam calls and spam messages.
Last chance to earn more from FD
This month is also important for those who like to invest in FD. The deadline for IDBI Bank’s 300 days, 375 days and 444 days special FD is 30 September. The deadline for investing in Indian Bank’s 300 and 400 days special FD scheme is also 30 September. SBI’s Amrit Kalash scheme and SBI WeCare FD scheme can also be availed only till 30 September.
Freedom to choose your preferred card network
Another big change is happening from this month for credit card users. Now customers will be able to choose the card network of their choice. Banks have been prohibited from entering into a contract with any card network to use an exclusive network. This change is coming into effect from September 6. This means that now you will be able to choose your favorite network from networks like MasterCard, Visa or Rupay.
