IAS Success Story: Her father had cancer. She was very attached to him and couldn’t see him in pain. Her father’s thoughts kept coming to her mind. She was facing many other problems in life. There was no hospital nearby and whenever her father’s health deteriorated, she had to take him to the hospital covering a distance of several kilometres. But she had a strong belief that she had to do something and fulfil her father’s dream. This is the story of Ritika Jindal, who at a very young age brought laurels to her family by securing an excellent rank in the UPSC exams.
This is the story of Ritika Jindal who hails from Punjab. Ritika was very intelligent in studies from the beginning. She had scored very good marks in 12th class, she topped Northern India. After completing her schooling, Ritika took admission in Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi where she completed her graduation by securing third rank. She had a desire to become an IAS. She had a dream of doing something big since childhood, so she started preparing for UPSC along with graduation.
She gave her first attempt after completing her graduation. She cleared the prelims exam but in the last stage, she fell short by a few marks. But she did not give up and continued her preparation and decided to give the paper once again. Ritika gave her next attempt in which she secured 88th rank. When she cleared the exam, she was just 22 years old. However, her journey to become an IAS was not easy.
Daughter fulfilled her duty
When Ritika Jindal was preparing for the UPSC exam, she came to know that her father had cancer. Due to which the whole family was devastated. The daughter who loved her father very much was left stunned. Earlier her father had oral cancer, which was somehow cured. But after some time he got lung cancer. In this situation, it was not easy for Ritika to prepare for the exam. In an interview, Ritika had told that her house is in a small town. Where there was a lack of resources and infrastructure. Due to this, she had to take her father to Ludhiana for treatment.
Had to fulfill parents dream
Ritika Jindal says that her parents died when she was on training. The cause of her father’s death was cancer, within two months of her father’s death, her mother also died due to cancer. But Ritika had her parents’ dream in her mind, they wanted their daughter to help the society.
