Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has become the Finance Minister of the country for the second consecutive time. She is going to present her seventh budget. She will present her budget speech on 23 July 2024 at 11 am. Being the Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman is the main face of this budget team.
TV Somanathan is a prominent face in the Finance Minister’s budget team. He is working as a senior secretary in the Finance Ministry and looks after the work of the Finance Secretary and the Department of Expenditure. He has worked in the PMO between 2015 and 2017 and is considered very close to PM Modi. Even before this, he has played an important role in many budgets.
Ajay Seth, a 1987 batch IAS officer, is also a part of this budget team. He is working as a secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs of the Finance Ministry. He has played an important role in bringing India’s first green sovereign green brand.
Tuhin Kant Pandey has also played a very important role in the Budget 2024 team. Currently, he is working as the Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM). He has played a very important role in the sale of Air India and bringing the IPO of LIC.
Sanjay Malhotra is currently working as Revenue Secretary. He has also played an important role in preparing this budget. He is a 1990 batch IAS officer.
Vivek Joshi started working with the Ministry of Finance in the year 2022. He is currently working as Secretary in the Department of Financial Services. He has worked on rules related to banking, insurance and pension.
V Anantha Nageshwaran is the Chief Economic Advisor of India, who has played an important role in preparing this budget. He played an important role in making the G20 Summit a success.
