India vs South Africa 3rd T20: Tilak Verma has given an explosive performance and scored a century against South Africa. Here is Tilak’s T20 century for Team India. He performed amazingly in Centurion. On the basis of Tilak’s century, Team India crossed the 200-run mark against South Africa. Tilak also played a good partnership with Abhishek Sharma.
Tilak came to bat at number three during the Indian innings. During this period, he faced 56 balls and scored unbeaten 107 runs. This innings of Tilak included 8 fours and 7 sixes. He played a good partnership with Abhishek. Abhishek was out after scoring 50 runs. But Tilak remained firm till the end. The century in the Centurion T20 match became memorable for him. This is the first century of his T20 International career.
Tilak became the second youngest player to score a T20 century for India –
Tilak has become the second youngest player for India to score a century in T20 International. Tilak has accomplished this feat at the age of 22. Before him, Yashasvi Jaiswal had also scored a century. Yashasvi scored a century at the age of 21 years and 279 days. Yashasvi had scored a century against Nepal.
Tilak joins Rohit-Raina’s list –
Tilak has made a place in the special list related to Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina. Actually, Rohit and Raina have also scored T20 centuries against South Africa. Raina had done this feat in 2010. Rohit had scored a century in 2015. Suryakumar Yadav had scored a century in 2023. Whereas Sanju Samson scored a century in the current series. Now Tilak has also joined this list.
On the strength of Tilak, India crossed the 200-run mark –
Team India gave a target of 220 runs to South Africa in the Centurion T20 match. India scored 2019 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. During this, Abhishek Sharma also performed well along with Tilak. He scored 50 runs in 25 balls. Abhishek hit 5 sixes and 3 fours.
