Why Hardik Pandya did not bowl IND vs BAN 2nd T20: India has defeated Bangladesh by 86 runs in the second T20 match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Indian team had made a huge score of 221 runs while playing first, thanks to the half-centuries of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh. In reply, Bangladesh team could score only 135 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. India has won the series 2-0, but the second match has come into discussion due to Hardik Pandya not being given bowling.
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav handed the ball into the hands of 7 bowlers during bowling. Nitish Reddy, Varun Chakraborty and Mayank Yadav completed 4 overs of their respective spells. Arshdeep Singh bowled 3 overs, while Abhishek Sharma and Ryan Parag bowled two overs each. One over was also made from Washington Sundar. When so many bowlers were being used then why was the team’s main all-rounder player Hardik Pandya not made to bowl?
Team India’s management and captain Suryakumar Yadav are being trolled fiercely for not handing over the ball to Hardik Pandya. A fan said that the all-rounder who is in the news all the time, was not made to bowl even a single over, what a thing. On the other hand, someone took a dig at BCCI by saying that it was the board which had sent Hardik to domestic cricket to improve his bowling skills, but here the ball was not even handed to him.
Hardik has taken 87 wickets in his long International T20 career of 103 matches. He is a very experienced bowler and despite his option being open, the ball was not handed to him. Well, one reason for this could also be that the management is trying to build a new team, so when the match was almost in India’s lap, instead of going towards Hardik, the captain made the young and new bowlers bowl more.
