SSC CGL 2024 Step By Step Selection Process: The Combined Graduate Level Examination of Staff Selection Commission has started from today. The examination which started today on 9th September will continue till 26th September. This is a tier one exam which will be conducted for different candidates on different days. This year, candidates will be appointed on a total of 17727 posts through SSC CGL examination. These are the potential vacancies, which may change. SSC CGL is a national level exam in which lakhs of candidates participate.
Selection is done in several stages
If you are also wondering how the selection is done through SSC CGL exam, then we will answer it. Through this exam, the candidates are selected in three stages. Tier one exam, Tier two exam and document verification. Tier one exam is a type of screening exam which is called pre-examination. Only after this, most of the total candidates are reduced. Those who remain, give the further rounds. Currently, Tier one exam is being conducted.

Those who pass will move forward
Candidates who pass this stage will move forward. Since this is a pre-exam, its marks are not counted while preparing the final score. This only helps in shortlisting the candidates. Those who pass the first stage appear for the second stage i.e. Tier 2 exam.
How will the process proceed
If we go step by step, Tier 1 exams are going on right now. After this, when the exam is over, the provisional answer key will come. After that the final answer key and finally the results. Then the first phase will be completed. After this, Tier 2 will be conducted in the second phase.

Its dates have not been announced yet, it would be better for the candidates to keep checking the official website from time to time to know the updates. The process of Tier 2 will also be completed in the same way. First the exam, then the answer key and then the results. Now the candidates who will be selected at this level will go for the document verification round.
The last level is document verification
If the candidate has attached the correct documents while filling the form, then the selection is confirmed after Tier 2. Those who pass in this are appointed to various posts. In the DV round, the documents of the selected candidates are matched with the original documents and it is checked whether the documents attached by him while filling the application are correct or not. After this, the candidate is selected. Thus, the entire selection process takes one and a half to two years.
