Bihar Womens Asian Champions Trophy Rajgir 2024: In the Hockey Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 being played in Rajgir, Bihar, South Korea defeated Thailand 3-0 and secured sixth place in the tournament. India, Japan, China and Malaysia have secured their place in the semi-finals, but before that, Korea and Thailand came face to face for the fifth and sixth place. With this, South Korea finished fifth in the Champions Trophy, while Thailand had to be content with last place in the points table.
All three goals in the match were scored by South Korea. The first goal came from a penalty corner in the 14th minute, while in the 35th minute Korea also converted a penalty corner. In the 45th minute, Seon Lee scored the first field goal of the match, with this Korea took a 3-0 lead, which remained intact till the end. Let us tell you that last year Korea had to be satisfied with the fourth place, whereas in the Champions Trophy held in 2021, South Korea was the runner-up. In the league stage, South Korea was able to register only one win in five matches, due to which the team failed to qualify for the semi-finals. Thailand, on the other hand, failed to register a single win in the entire tournament.
India in semi-finals
India is hosting this tournament, which had topped the points table by winning all five of its matches in the league stage. Apart from that, China, Malaysia and Japan have also confirmed their place in the semi-finals. Now China and Malaysia will come face to face in the first semi-final, while in the second semi-final the Indian team will face two-time champion team Japan. Let us tell you that India had defeated Japan 0-3 in the league stage match. By defeating Japan, India can reach the final for the second consecutive time.
