Sonu Sood Post on Road Accidents: Sonu Sood has expressed grief over the death of a youth in a road accident in Mumbai. He has expressed his condolences to the bereaved family by posting from his X account. It has also been written about the need for necessary safety measures to prevent such accidents.

Expressing his grief on X and using the photo of a water filled road crash barrier, Sonu Sood wrote, “I am saddened to hear about a young man who lost his life after colliding with a road divider in Mumbai. I feel that if such water-filled road crash barriers are placed on every road divider in our country, we can save lakhs of lives. This should be made mandatory in every road contract. Jai Hind.”

Lakhs of lives are lost every year in road accidents
According to the Press Information Bureau, every year lakhs of people in the country lose their lives due to road accidents. In the year 2022, about 1 lakh 68 thousand deaths have occurred in the country due to road accidents.
Government of India has set this target to reduce road accidents.
According to its commitment related to the Stockholm Declaration, the Government of India aims to reduce road accidents by 50% by the year 2030.
According to PIB, to achieve this, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has adopted a strategy called 4E. Here E means education, engineering (related to roads and vehicles), enforcement and emergency cases.
The government has started different initiatives related to these strategies and keeps issuing notifications related to it from time to time.
