Sarfaraz Ahmed Trolls Babar Azam on Strike-Rate: Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam is known for his classical game in ODI cricket. But in today’s era of fast cricket, his style of playing is becoming outdated. Babar’s strike rate is 88, which is not considered effective in ODIs, while in T20 format his strike rate is 129. Due to this slow game, while he is capable of scoring big runs, the pressure on the team keeps increasing.
In the Pakistan Champions One Day Cup match, when Babar Azam started well in the first few overs, there was hope. But soon his game slowed down again. At one point, he was playing after scoring 13 runs in 10 balls, but he was able to score only 10 runs in the next 22 balls, due to which the situation of his team started deteriorating.

During Babar Azam’s innings, former Pakistan captain and opposition player Sarfaraz Ahmed took a dig at his strike rate. He jokingly said that bowlers should not dismiss Babar and should let him stay at the crease till the 40th over. Sarfaraz said, “There is no hurry, there is no hurry. Just tell them to keep saying Babar Babar, we will make Babar play 40 overs.”

Babar Azam out of top-10 of ICC rankings
The year 2024 has been quite challenging for Babar Azam. His performance in the Test series against Australia was disappointing and then Pakistan was eliminated from the group stage in the T20 World Cup 2024. His batting was also weak in the Test series against Bangladesh, where he scored just 64 runs in four innings. As a result, he dropped out of the top-10 of the ICC rankings.
