Manjrekar has made such comments, for which he is being trolled fiercely on social media.
Sanjay Manjrekar was doing Hindi commentary during the India vs New Zealand match. When his fellow commentator took the name of India women’s team fielding coach Munish Bali, who has played for Punjab. When Bali was mentioned, Sanjay Manjrekar said that he did not know much about North Indian players. He said, “Sorry but I could not recognize him. I do not pay much attention to the players from the North.
Abusing language is being used against him on social media. A fan said that Sanjay Manjrekar is the most useless commentator. While some criticized his cricket career, some even demanded his immediate dismissal. Manjrekar has earlier been embroiled in controversies for his commentary in IPL and also for his comments on Ravindra Jadeja.
India had suffered a crushing defeat
On October 4, India played its first match against New Zealand in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. In this encounter, the Kiwi team batted first and scored 160 runs, in which captain Sophie Devine played an unbeaten inning of 57 runs. Team India, which came to chase the target, was limited to the score of 102 runs, due to which it had to face a big defeat of 58 runs. Now if India wants to go to the next stage, it will have to win the next three matches of the group stage.
