Indian Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has once again provided a golden opportunity for job aspirants. Railways has issued short notice for Group-D recruitment, in which appointments will be made on a total of 32,438 posts. Interested candidates can apply from 23 January 2025 to 22 February 2025. Detailed information for this recruitment will soon be made available on the official website of the board.
Number of posts and departments
In this recruitment, vacancies have been released in various departments, in which posts have been announced in Traffic, Engineering, Mechanical, S&T, and Electrical departments. Of these, there are 5058 posts of Pointsman-B in the Traffic Department, while 799 posts of Track Machine Assistant and 13,187 posts of Track Maintainer Grade IV are vacant in the Engineering Department. Apart from this, 301 posts of Assistant Bridge, 2587 posts of Assistant (C&W) in Mechanical Department, 420 posts of Assistant Loco Shed (Diesel) and 3077 posts of Assistant (Workshop) will also be filled.
In the Electrical Department, appointments will also be made on 1381 posts of Assistant TRD, 950 posts of Assistant Loco Shed (Electrical) and various other posts. Overall, 32,438 posts will be filled in this recruitment.
Eligibility
To apply for Group D Recruitment, candidates must have passed class 10th or must have obtained National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT. Talking about age limit, the age of the candidate should be between 18 to 36 years as on 1st July 2025. Relaxation in this age limit will also be given to various categories of candidates under RRB rules.
Application Fee
To apply for this recruitment, general and OBC category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 500, of which Rs 400 will be refunded on appearing in the Computer Based Examination (CBT). At the same time, SC, ST, EBC, women and transgender candidates will have to pay a fee of only Rs 250, which will be fully refunded if they appear in the examination.
Exam Pattern
RRB Group-D Recruitment process includes Computer Based Test (CBT-1), Physical Efficiency Test, Document Verification and Medical Examination. There will be four major sections in CBT.
- General Science: 25 Questions
- Mathematics: 25 questions
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 Questions
- General Awareness: 20 Questions
- 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer, while 1 mark will be given for the correct answer.
