Ravindra Jadeja Historic Feat In IND vs NZ 3rd Test: Ravindra Jadeja created history in the third Test played against New Zealand in Mumbai. In this test, Jadeja took 5-5 wickets in both the innings. For the first time in his career, Jaddu opened the batting in both the innings of a Test. Jadeja became only the second Indian bowler to take 5-5 wickets in both the innings of a Test.
In the first innings against New Zealand in Mumbai, Jadeja took 65 runs and then in the second innings, the Indian spinner took 5 wickets giving 55 runs. In this way, Jadeja took 10 wickets for 120 runs, which was the second best bowling figure of his Test career. Jaddu achieved the best bowling figures of his career (10/110) against Australia in 2023.
Before Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin was the only bowler who had taken 5-5 wickets in both the innings of a Test. Ashwin has done this feat twice. First of all, Ashwin took 5-5 wickets in both the innings of Chennai Test against Australia in 2013. Then in the Test played against South Africa in Nagpur, Ashwin took 5-5 wickets in both the innings.
Took 10 wicket haul for the third time in his career
This was Jadeja’s third 10-wicket haul in his Test career. In the list of taking the maximum 10 wicket haul for India, former veteran spinner Anil Kumble and current spinner R Ashwin are jointly at the top position. Kumble took 10 wicket hauls eight times in his career. Ashwin has also taken 10 wicket hauls eight times in his Test career so far. In the list, Harbhajan Singh is at second place with five times and Ravindra Jadeja is at third place with three times.
