Paris Olympics 2024 Racewalk: India’s racewalk athlete Priyanka Goswami is being heavily trolled on social media. Last week on Thursday, Priyanka participated in the women’s 20 km racewalk, in which she finished 41st. Meanwhile, she shared a video on Instagram, in which she was seen enjoying in an air-conditioned room. In that video, Priyanka first turned on the AC and then went to sleep on the bed. Due to being trolled by people, Priyanka had to delete this video clip, but it is still available on social media.
Let us tell you that Priyanka completed the 20 km racewalk in 1:39:55 hours, while the Chinese athlete who won the gold medal completed the race in 1:25:54 seconds. The difference of about 14 minutes shows that Priyanka’s performance was mediocre. In such a situation, when she shared a video of making a gold reel in an AC room, people trolled her and said that Priyanka should focus more on improving her performance than making reels.
A fan criticized this Indian athlete and said that coming 41st out of 43 athletes is not praiseworthy. Priyanka trains in Switzerland and works in the Indian Railways. This fan was so angry that he even said about Priyanka that she is able to train with the money of the tax payers.
On the other hand, some people have also come out in support of Priyanka. Many fans say that Priyanka was the only Indian athlete to qualify in the women’s 20 km racewalk, for which she should be praised. Let us tell you that Priyanka was the silver medalist in this sport in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, but she had to return home empty-handed in the Paris Olympics.
