PM Modi Meet Olympic Athletes 15 August: On 15 August 2024, i.e. on the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation as usual. On this special occasion, PM Modi will meet the Indian team of 117 athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics. Invitations have been sent to all the athletes including the medal winners. Not only this, but the entire Indian team has also been invited to visit the PM residence.
After finishing his speech at the Red Fort, PM Modi is going to meet all the Olympic athletes at his residence. The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games were organized in 2021 due to the Covid pandemic, where the Indian team won a total of 7 medals. At that time also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a special meeting with the entire Olympic team and also had dinner with the players.
Will PM Modi have lunch?
In 2021, PM Modi had dinner with all the athletes who went to the Tokyo Olympics. This time the Prime Minister will meet the athletes after 12 o’clock after finishing his speech. In such a situation, the Prime Minister can have lunch with all the athletes of the Indian team and can be seen sipping tea. Last time when PM Modi met the athletes, his pictures became a topic of discussion. He learned about javelin throw from Neeraj Chopra and laughed a lot with everyone else.
First talked on phone, now will boost morale by coming in front
PM Modi has already spoken to the athletes who will bring medals for India in Paris Olympics 2024 and congratulated them. His conversation with hockey legend PR Sreejesh in particular went viral. Sreejesh was a part of the bronze medal winning Indian hockey team and has now retired. Talking on the phone, the Prime Minister congratulated Sreejesh on his memorable career and also urged him to prepare India’s next hockey team. Apart from this, he praised the talent of Aman Sehrawat, who has won a bronze medal at the age of just 21.
An Indian team of 117 athletes had reached Paris
117 athletes from India participated in the Paris Olympics 2024. India won the most medals in shooting. Manu Bhaker won 2 bronze in shooting, Sarabjot Singh also shared bronze with Manu in the mixed team event. Swapnil Kusale also won a bronze medal in his Olympic debut. Apart from him, Aman Sehrawat won bronze in wrestling, Indian hockey team won bronze. Neeraj Chopra was the only athlete to bring a silver medal for India. PM Modi congratulated all these athletes over the phone or through social media.
