Jamaica Marg in New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Tuesday that the road in front of the Jamaica High Commission in New Delhi will now be known as ‘Jamaica Marg’. PM Modi said that this will make relations between India and Jamaica even better. The Jamaica Road was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Dr. Andrew Holness himself. Veteran West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle was also present at the inauguration.
This dashing batsman of West Indies along with Kamina Johnson Smith of Jamaica also planted saplings at Rajghat. Let us tell you that the High Commission office of Jamaica in New Delhi is located in Vasant Vihar and now the road in front of it will be known as ‘Jamaica Marg’. The Prime Ministers of India and Jamaica discussed trade, investment and education and many other topics.
Years ago, when the 2019 Lok Sabha elections were approaching in India, there were rumors that Chris Gayle was going to hold an election rally in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but in reality nothing like this happened. But in 2021, when India sent the vaccine to Jamaica to deal with the Covid pandemic, Chris Gayle expressed his gratitude to PM Modi.

If we look at his cricket career, Chris Gayle played the last match for West Indies in November 2021, but after that he has not played a single international match. It is also a fact worth noting that Chris Gayle has not yet taken retirement from international cricket. Gayle has said that he wants to say goodbye to cricket in front of his home crowd in Jamaica. Gayle was last seen playing in the World Championship of Legends.
