Paris Olympic Medalist Swapnil Kusale Father demands 5 Crore: The Maharashtra government had given Rs 2 crore as prize money to Swapnil Kusale, who surprised everyone by winning the bronze medal in shooting at the Paris Olympics 2024. Now Swapnil’s father Suresh Kusale says that Swapnil should have been given not Rs 2 crore but Rs 5 crore as reward. Not only this, he has also put forward a demand before the Maharashtra government that his son Swapnil should also get a flat.
Suresh Kusale says that the Maharashtra government has issued a new policy, under which the Olympic bronze medalist will be given a reward of Rs 2 crore. Suresh said how can the government make such a policy when Swapnil is only the second athlete from Maharashtra to have won an Olympic medal in a single event. Giving the example of Haryana government, Suresh Kusale said that the athletes there get more money for winning Olympic medals.
Demand for Rs 5 crore and a flat
Suresh Kusale believes that his son should get Rs 5 crore and a flat in Pune for winning the Olympic medal. He said, “Swapnil should get a reward of Rs 5 crore. Apart from this, he should get a flat near Belawadi Sports Complex in Pune so that he can reach there for practice quickly. Also, a 50 meter 3 position rifle shooting arena will be built in Swapnil’s name.” Should also be opened.”
Let us remind you that for winning the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics, Railways had promoted Swapnil Kusale and given him the post of Officer on Special Duty. Before Swapnil, KD Jadhav was the first athlete from Maharashtra to win a medal in a singles event at the Olympics. Jadhav won the bronze medal in freestyle wrestling in 1952.
