Pakistan Test Head Coach Jason Gillespie: The phase of changes in Pakistan cricket is showing no sign of abating. Now the statement of Pakistan Test team head coach Jason Gillespie has become the center of discussion, in which he made it clear that now he will not have any role in the selection of Pakistan team. Whereas at the time of appointment to the post of coach, he was promised that the control of the team would be given in his hands.
Jason Gillespie told in a media conference, “I am now just a coach who will work on the strategies on the match day. So I will not think about other things and will just concentrate on improving the players and their cricket.” Meanwhile, a source in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Test team coach Jason Gillespie and captain Shan Masood are going to meet the selectors after the third match between Pakistan vs New Zealand.
Captain and coach are silent right now
Information has also come to light from the PCB that coach Jason Gillespie and captain Shan Masood are silent right now, but after the end of the series against England, they can ask for a clear answer from the PCB Chairman. The PCB source made a big disclosure saying that when Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten were appointed as coaches, they were assured that their opinion would definitely be taken in the matters of team selection and playing eleven.
Gillespie is now unhappy with not getting any role in the team’s selection process. He disclosed in the conference, “After the first Test match, PCB intervened. It was decided that a new selection committee would be formed and they would take all the decisions on team matters. I was not included in the decisions.”
