Tata Trusts: After Ratan Tata left the world, now his half brother Noel Tata has been chosen as the next chairman of Tata Trusts. Earlier, his name had come into discussion when the new head of Tata Sons was being chosen. However, later the command of Tata Sons passed into the hands of Cyrus Mistry. This time Noel Tata, son of Naval Tata and Simone Tata, finally got this honor.
Noel Tata handles these responsibilities
- He is holding the responsibility of Chairman of Tata International Limited. In four decades, he has played an important role in including many international companies in the Tata Group.
- He is the chairman of Trent, Voltas and Tata Investment Corporation. He is also the Vice Chairman of Tata Steel and Titan Company.
- Apart from this, he is also a trustee of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust.
- Under his leadership, between August 2010 and November 2021, Tata International has become a company worth $500 million to $3 billion.
- Apart from this, he has transformed Trent from a company with 1 store in 1998 to a company with 700 stores.
Tata Sons is owned by Tata Trust
Tata Trusts is the country’s largest charitable organization. Apart from this, it is also the largest shareholder of the $165 billion Tata Group. Ratan Tata had not chosen anyone as his successor, hence the responsibility of choosing the new chairman of Tata Trusts fell on its board. There are two more trusts within Tata Trusts named Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust. He has about 52 percent stake in Tata Sons. Tata Sons owns the Tata Group, whose business ranges from salt to airlines.
Parsi community will get happiness
The decision to hand over the responsibility of Tata Trusts to Noel Tata will also please the Parsi community. They will like that the family that created Tata Group is in charge of Tata Trusts. Till now its command has been only with Parsi families. Even if he is not from the Tata family. Noel Tata will be the 11th chairman of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and 6th chairman of Sir Ratan Tata Trust. Last time, to please him, Ratan Tata had given the command of Tata Sons to his brother-in-law Cyrus Mistry in his place. But Ratan Tata was unhappy with his working methods and removed him and handed over this responsibility to N Chandrasekaran.
