The Central Government has made preparations to launch a new ITR e-filing portal soon to save the taxpayers from the problems. Preparations are going on in full swing to launch this new income tax filing portal which will be introduced as IEC 3.0 and this new ITR e-filing portal will be able to overcome the problems related to filing during IEC 2.0.
Government to create new ITR portal for e-filing of income tax
This news has come out quoting the Wealth Edition of Economic Times (ET Wealth Online), under which it has been told that an internal circular has been issued. It has been said that the arrangements being made for technical work to create a new ITR portal for e-filing of income tax are important in tax filing and are also a big step towards establishing a better system.
The idea behind IEC 3.0 is to provide secure and user-friendly methods to facilitate income tax filing. On October 8, 2024, it is said that a new project IEC 3.0 (will replace the existing IEC 2.0 project) and the process of bringing it has been completed. IEC stands for Existing Integrated e-Filing and Centralized Processing Centre.
Income Tax Department is taking public opinion
The Income Tax Department is currently taking public opinion and taking the opinion of stakeholders before launching the new ITR e-filing 3.o portal so that this system can be brought before the country as a more user friendly portal. Along with this, it is also inviting suggestions from the public.
The aim of Project IEC 3.0 is to motivate high speed information technology. This will enable faster processing of ITR. This can help the taxpayers in getting fast refund if they do not have any problem. It is also expected that with the introduction of latest technology in IEC 3.0, the complaints of taxpayers can be reduced significantly.
