Why is Hardik Pandya not playing?
There is no doubt that Hardik Pandya is a world-class fast bowling all-rounder. His statistics in white ball cricket are excellent, but after August 2018, he has not represented Team India in any Test match. Pandya’s fitness is one of the main reasons for him not playing in Test matches. During 2018-19, the problem of back pain started affecting Pandya, due to which he even stopped bowling.
In the Test format, bowlers have to bowl long spells, but the history of injuries does not allow Hardik’s body to bowl long bowling spells. Due to frequent injuries, Pandya is rarely seen bowling 10 overs in ODI matches. Fitness is the biggest reason why Hardik has not returned to the Test team after 2018.
Hardik Pandya’s test career?
Hardik Pandya has played 11 test matches so far in his career, in which he has scored a total of 532 runs, scoring one century and four fifties. He has also taken 17 wickets in bowling. Hardik has taken a total of 3,469 runs and 173 wickets in both formats of white ball cricket. Hardik had told in a media interview a few years ago that if he had continued playing Test cricket, perhaps he would never have been able to reach such a high position in white ball cricket.
