Shami has taken 55 wickets in 18 World Cup matches for India. He was the highest wicket-taker in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Shami took 24 wickets in just 7 matches.
Let us tell you that Shami took 17 wickets for India in the 2015 ODI World Cup. After this, he took 14 wickets in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Then in the 2023 ODI World Cup, he created a storm with 24 wickets. In the semi-final played against New Zealand in the tournament, the Indian pacer took 7 wickets.
Shami took a hat-trick in the match against Afghanistan in the 2019 World Cup. He became only the second Indian fast bowler to take a hat-trick in an ODI World Cup.
