Mammootty On Hema Committee Report: Superstar Mammootty, who remained silent even days after the Hema Committee report on the Malayalam film industry was made public, said that there is no power group in cinema. The Hema Committee has mentioned a 15-member power group in the Malayalam film industry. Mammootty broke his silence after another superstar of the Malayalam film industry Mohanlal spoke to the media regarding the Hema Committee report on Saturday. Both the superstars are facing public trolling for remaining silent on the Hema Committee report, which was made public on August 19.
Mohanlal welcomed the report on Saturday and said that films are only a part of society and there are such issues in all areas. In a post on social media, Mammootty welcomed the Hema Committee report and said that he was waiting for the opinion of the Malayalam Movie Artists Association and its leadership before expressing his views.
Everything that happens in society will be reflected in cinema as well.
Superstar Mammootty said, ‘All the good and bad things happening in society will be reflected in cinema as people working in it are a part of the society. But the film industry is always in the public eye, so important and unimportant events become a topic of discussion.’ He called upon the film industry professionals to be careful and vigilant to ensure that no bad incident takes place in this field.
What happened shouldn’t have happened
He said, ‘The government formed the Hema Committee to study the industry and make a report, this happened after an incident that should never have happened. The Malayalam superstar also said that the industry wholeheartedly welcomes and supports the recommendations and solutions given in that report. Now the time has come for all the associations of the film industry to come together and implement them.
The actor further said that the police investigation on the recent allegations is progressing effectively and it is hoped that the police will investigate it honestly. Let the court decide the punishment. The practical recommendations of the committee’s report should be implemented and if there are legal obstacles then laws must be made.
