In the program of saints’ gathering, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan Ashram located in Rishikesh, told important things about Ganga Aarti. He told that ‘in my childhood I got the opportunity to come to the banks of Ganga, since then my life changed.
Ganga is a mother for me, then I felt that no pollution of any kind should enter the water of Ganga. For this, people were awakened with the Aarti of Ganga ji. It started when there was a flood in Rishikesh around 1960, then Ganga ji Aarti was performed and the entire flow gradually calmed down, then the idea of continuously performing Ganga ji Aarti was awakened.
Aarti of Ganga ji is not done because she is a mother, she is our inspiration, she flows for everyone and is equal for everyone. Ganga ji never discriminated. Ganga ji irrigated everyone’s fields.
According to Swamiji, be simple but don’t be cheap. Don’t do those things which make us cheap, take us to a cheap position. This leads us towards darkness in life. The flowing stream of Ganga gives us the message of purity, simplicity and alertness.
The message of this Kumbh should be that people coming to the banks of Ganga should not pollute the Ganga. Don’t spoil the fair’
Mahamandaleshwar Himangi Sakhi
Describing the importance of bathing in Maha Kumbh, Mahamandaleshwar Himangi Sakhi said that when we take bath in Ganga during Kumbh, there are drops of nectar in it. By bathing in it a person becomes free from sin. Becomes pure and is freed from the bondage of birth and death.
However, a sin committed intentionally is a crime. Which is never forgiven. It doesn’t get destroyed even after a bath, no matter how much faith you take in the dip.
What was said about donation – Mahamandaleshwar Himangi Sakhi told that every living being should donate his soul, donate his thoughts, donate the filth of his mind and dedicate his life to Sri Hari, only then he will truly earn the virtue of charity.
If we have got human life then our life should be meaningful, the more we do Hari Bhajan in Kaliyuga, the more life will be meaningful, God’s blessings will also shower on us.
