Jemimah Rodrigues Father Statement: Ivan Rodriguez, father of Indian female cricketer Jemimah Rodriguez, was accused of serious allegations of carrying out activities related to religious conversion in the Khar Gymkhana Club. Now he has issued a statement on the allegations saying that these activities are a violation of the rules of the Gymkhana Club and he is not involved in religious conversion in any way.
According to ANI, Ivan Rodriguez gave clarity and said, “We have organized prayer meetings at Khar Gymkhana Club several times after April 2023. But all this was done within the rules of the club and the higher officials were fully aware of it. Anyone could have come to the prayer meetings. The news of conversion being reported in the media is just a rumour. When we were asked to stop the meetings, we stopped doing so respectfully and with immediate effect.”

Jemimah Rodriguez’s father further said in his defense, “We are truthful and law-abiding people and we are proud to practice our religion without causing any inconvenience to other people. False allegations due to lack of information.” It’s a disappointing thing to go, we want the best for everyone.”
What were the allegations?
This matter gained momentum when Ivan Rodriguez was accused of carrying out religious activities in Khar Gymkhana Club without any permission and he was also involved in religious conversion. Due to these allegations, the Gymkhana Club membership of his daughter and Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodriguez was cancelled. Jemima was the first female cricketer to get membership of this club.
