India’s leading budget airline IndiGo has been included among the world’s worst airlines in a recent global report. The report ranked airlines on parameters such as punctuality, quality of service and compensation claims management. However, IndiGo has rejected the claims of this report.
IndiGo’s response
In its response, IndiGo said that in the survey conducted by AirHelp Exact figures of India’s aviation industry are not represented. The company claimed that the data published by the Indian aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) shows its better position in terms of punctuality and customer complaints.
IndiGo praised its service. Said that it is committed to providing timely, affordable and hassle-free travel experience to the customers. The airline also said that the number of complaints from their customers is much lower than other airlines given their larger operating scale.

According to the report, Tunisa Air, the world’s worst performing airline, has been ranked 109th. Whereas, Air India is at 61st and AirAsia is at 94th. North American airlines like JetBlue and Air Canada also found a place in the bottom 50. On the other hand, Brussels Airlines, Qatar Airways and United Airlines have got the top three positions.
