Virat Kohli Captaincy Record: Virat Kohli has been the most successful Test captain of the Indian cricket team on the basis of statistics. Now Sanjay Bangar, former batting coach of Team India, has given a big statement and said that Virat should have continued captaincy. Let us remind you that Virat left the captaincy after the Test series against South Africa in 2022. Under him, India had won the most Test matches till date i.e. 40.
While discussing on a podcast, Sanjay Bangar said, “I personally think that Virat Kohli should have at least handled the captaincy of the Test team for a longer period. He captained India in more than 65 Test matches, I believe that he could have continued this role further.”
Virat Kohli’s Mindset
Sanjay Bangar further said that Virat Kohli’s mindset was to make the team win as many matches as possible abroad because at that time India had already dominated the home grounds. The former batting coach said that the Indian team was confident that it would win more than 75 percent of the matches played on home grounds. That is why Kohli wanted India to do well on foreign pitches.
Virat Kohli’s captaincy record
Virat Kohli captained India in 68 Test matches in his career, out of which the team won on 40 occasions.
