Ravi Shastri Message for Virat Kohli: The recent performance of Indian cricket’s star batsman Virat Kohli has not been special as per his name and stature. 36-year-old Kohli could score only one half-century in five Test matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand this year and his average was only 21.33. Recently, Kohli was seen struggling in the 3-0 Test series defeat against New Zealand. Now former Indian team coach and Kohli’s old mentor Ravi Shastri has stood in his support. Ravi Shastri believes that Kohli will give a befitting reply to his critics during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
Ravi Shastri supported Kohli and gave special advice
Sharing his views in the ICC Review, Ravi Shastri said, “The King is back in his form. Once you have earned the title of ‘King’ with your brilliant performance in Australia, then you are in the mind of the opposing team. “Presence will always create a fear.”
Ravi Shastri has advised Virat Kohli to play with caution and patience, especially in the initial overs. He said, “Your enthusiasm is at its peak, but it is important to show patience. Sometimes showing excessive enthusiasm can be harmful. It will be very important for Kohli to maintain patience in the first half hour.”
Kohli’s excellent record in Australia
Virat Kohli’s performance in Australia has been very special. In his first Test tour in 2011/12, he scored a century in Adelaide. After this, in the 2014 tour, he scored 692 runs in four Test matches at an average of 86.50. Not only this, under Kohli’s captaincy in 2018/19, India won the Test series in Australia for the first time, in which Kohli played a brilliant inning of 123 runs in Perth.
